Investigation of the total displacement distribution on clay core of earth dam (Case study of Derik Dam)
Abstract
Today, due to the climatic conditions of the country and the optimal use of water, there is a growing need for the construction of reservoir structures such as large and small dams as the structures for controlling the surface water discharge of rivers. In this research, the study of the distribution of total displacement on the earth's dam with clay core (Case study of Derik dam) was investigated. The results showed that the greatest change in the Derik earth dam was obtained with a clay core of 8 cm and the least change in the asphalt concrete core was 2cm. This results shows the higher ability of the PLAXIS model to solve complex problems.
